The Creek Club Social Skills Group
Kid’s Creek Therapy offers The Creek Club, a six-week social skills group for ages 6-10. Strong social skills are comprised of many different components, or building blocks, that need to come together to create success in social situations. The goal of The Creek Club is to build a good foundation for these skills. Over the course of six sessions, your child will get to practice the following skills:
• Proper greetings and farewells
• Conversational skills
• Topic maintenance
• Body language
• Following directions
• Recognizing feelings in others
• Cooperation
• Critical thinking skills
• Appropriate reactions to daily problems
• Eye contact
• Turn-taking
• Listening skills
• Facial expressions
• Identifying feelings in self
• Empathy
• Compromise
• Problem Solving
Each session introduces new skills; however, skills from the previous sessions are also utilized, thus creating the building block platform. The final session is a group project that requires the children to use all the skills learned throughout the course of the 6 sessions to create a successful event.
The Creek Club is for kids ages 6-10 and will take place every Thursday from 4:30-6:00 pm for six weeks, and the cost is $300 for one 6-week session. Space is limited to 6 children, so email or call to reserve your child’s spot today (frontdesk@kidscreektherapy.com or 770-888-5221)
