Creek Buddies:
Social Skills for Preschoolers
The pandemic limited young children’s opportunities to socialize with their peers, and Creek Buddies, our social skills group for preschoolers, aims to help children make up the ground they may have lost during these crucial preschool years. At Creek Buddies, toddlers and preschoolers can practice social and play skills in a fun learning environment. Creek Buddies will provide children with improved readiness for school/daycare settings or even playdates with friends.
Creek Buddies will learn how to participate in group activities, share toys, and play alongside others, and also will receive opportunities to engage in age-appropriate social play in a semi-structured, play-based setting. The group will be led by child development experts who will provide developmentally-appropriate activities and guidance to meet each child where they are.
Each Creek Buddies session will meet once a week for six weeks, with two sessions available. Sessions will provide education and feedback for parents; our aim is to offer helpful feedback which leads to purposeful play in the home and community. Before each session, our therapists will conduct a brief assessment with parents to share general expectations and gain pertinent info about their child in order to maximize the experience for both the child and the parent.
Creek Buddies is for children ages 2-4 years old (though we will consider young 5s) and is limited to six children per session. Cost is $300 for one 6-week session. Email or call to reserve your child’s spot today (frontdesk@kidscreektherapy.com or 770-888-5221).
*NOTE: A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve your child’s space.
