Jessica Orlick, M.S., CCC-SLP, IBCLC - Speech Therapist/Clinical Director/Lactation Consultant
Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, East Carolina University
Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders, Longwood University
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
Jessica grew up in a large family with parents who were teachers and coaches, so working with kids was a natural fit. She has worked in early intervention/home care, schools, and clinic settings providing treatment to children ranging from birth to 21 years old who present with an array of disorders including, but not limited to: autism spectrum disorder, apraxia of speech, feeding difficulties, genetic syndromes, articulation and phonological disorders, developmental delay, and receptive/expressive language disorders.
Despite Jessica’s broad base of experience, her passion is working with children who have feeding or oral motor difficulties. When feeding is difficult for a child, the entire family is impacted. This passion for feeding led her to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, giving her the ability to assist mothers and babies with feeding from the very beginning and set a strong foundation of skills for the transition to solids. She has also been trained in Beckman Oral Motor, Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) techniques, and Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT).
When she’s not helping children progress in speech, language, and feeding, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and sons, crafting, and working on projects around the house.
